Video Assist Cameras

Color IV: (TM) Introduced in 1993, the CEI Color IV was the first video assist camera to offer color and flicker free operation at 24 and 30 frames per second. For many years it was the movie industry choice for a video assist camera. Over 80% of the feature films relied on the Color IV for instant play back and monitoring of "takes". It was twice honored by the Academy of motion picture arts and sciences (1996 & 1998)
Key Features:
  • Color or Black & White operation
  • Flicker free at 24 & 30 Frames per second
  • NTSC and PAL versions
  • Works with all major film cameras
  • Consumes 8.5 Watts

Color V: (TM) Introduced in 1997, the CEI Color V succeeded it's older sister the Color IV with smaller size, less power consumption, and flicker free operation at all film camera speeds. With the FLX optional attachment, it provides frame lines, time code, and on screen film camera vital information like the film footage counter and speed.
Key Features:
  • Flicker free at all speeds
  • Eight sets of Frame lines with easy on screen setup
  • On screen time code display
  • VITS time code insertion in the video vertical blanking
  • Next film image white flag insertion in the video stream
  • Works with all major film cameras
  • Consumes 5.5 Watts

Color VI: (TM) Introduced in 1999, the CEI Color VI is the latest addition to the video assist camera family from CEI. User friendly menu driven operation with on screen help for all functions. The Color VI is rich with powerful features like a built in LCD monitor, an electronic zoom, and a frame line generator. It's user interface is engineered not to intimidate the novice user, yet it allows the highly technical operator to get into the sophisticated modes of operations.
Key Features:
  • Electronic image zoom (0 ~40%)
  • Built in 2.5" LCD color monitor
  • Frame line generator with 8 sets of pages
  • Stores up to 24 images for animation playback or references
  • Time code with VITS
  • Works with all major film camera
  • Integrates very well with the Air-flex B35, and B55 film cameras
  • Consumes 8.0/5.5 Watts "LCD screen on/off"

Video Encryption Products

VES-TM Minicrypt(TM) is a DC-powered, video and audio encryption system designed for covert surveillance, CCTV, business television and other private network applications. The system processes one channel of video and two channels of audio for secure transmission over standard wireless and wired links. VES-TM CoDecs measure 4"x 7"x 1" and consume less than 5 Watts off 7 to 30 volt DC power input. Multistandard operation.
Key Features:
  • 17 MHz sampling rate
  • NTSC/PAL Auto detect and switch
  • User defined 256 codes selection
  • The same unit works as Enc/Dec
  • 100% picture content concealment

VES-TL Minicrypt II (TM) is a video-only encryption system designed for applications where minimal equipment size and power consumption are of the highest concern. VES-TL CoDec units measure 3"x 4"x 1" and consume 2.1 Watts off 7 to 30 volt DC power input. Multistandard and PAL-only versions.
Key Features:
  • 18 MHz sampling rate
  • NTSC/PAL Auto detect and switch
  • User defined 256 codes selection
  • The same unit works as Enc/Dec
  • 100% picture content concealment
  • low cost & small size
  • low power 2.1 Watts

VES-MX Multiplexer: combines two channels of analog video for transmission over a single channel link. In this regard, the system effectively doubles the capacity of wireless or wired video links and reduces the amount of transmission hardware required for multi-camera surveillance, CCTV and broadcast newsgathering operations. NTSC only.
Key Features:
  • The two video sources don't have to be synchronized
  • Auto switch to MUX when 2 video sources are present
  • The same unit works as MUX/DE-MUX
  • Equal time multiplexing or Channel A priority
  • 18 MHz sampling rate
  • low cost & small size
  • low power 2.1 Watts

Video Image Enhancers

Image Processor (IPX): Produced by Video Optics, the IPX is a family of image enhancers designed primarily to work with a video camera mounted on a medical X-Ray machine. All products have built in recursive digital noise filters to reduce the noise associated with low level video signal. This facilitate exposing the patient to a smaller dose of X-Ray. The IPX also incorporates a 3x3 digital convolver to provide edge enhancement horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.
Key Features:
  • Edge Enhancer.
  • Noise Filter.
  • Image Store up to 64 Images.
  • Last Image Hold.
  • Image Reversal, V and H.
  • Window and Level Controls
  • BYPASS control.
  • 40 Mhz sampling rate
